Forex Pip Value Calculator
Work out the value of one pip in your account currency, and the profit or loss for any pip move.
Quick answer
Pip value is the profit or loss from a one-pip move: pip size x position size in units, in the quote currency. Multiply by the quote-to-account exchange rate to get the value in your account currency.

Assumptions & method
- Position size in units = number of lots × units per lot (1 unit per lot when Units is chosen).
- Pip value in the quote currency = pip size × units. Pip value in account currency = that × the rate you enter.
- P/L = pip value (account currency) × pip move. A negative pip move gives a loss.
- The rate is entered by you and is not fetched. It changes constantly, so refresh it before every calculation.
- Not included: spread, swap or rollover, commission, slippage and fractional-pip display differences between brokers.
- Educational only; this is not trading or investment advice.
Results are estimates based on the figures you enter. They are not guarantees and not financial advice.
How pip value works
A pip is the unit in which currency price moves are usually counted. Its money value depends on three things: the pip size, the number of units you trade and the currency you measure in. The value in the quote currency is the pip size multiplied by your position size. If your account is held in another currency, convert it using the rate between the quote currency and your account currency. Once you know the value of one pip, the profit or loss on a move is simply the number of pips times that value, with the sign set by your direction.
