Recurring Deposit Calculator
Estimate the maturity value of a recurring deposit from your monthly instalment, rate and term.
Quick answer
A recurring deposit builds a balance from equal monthly deposits that each earn compound interest. Each month the balance becomes (balance + deposit) x g, where g = (1 + rate/n)^(n/12) and n is the compounding periods per year.

Assumptions & method
- Method: each instalment D is compounded from its deposit month to maturity and the values are summed. An instalment held for k months is worth D × (1 + r ÷ n)^(n × k ÷ 12).
- Instalments are paid at the start of each month, so the first one earns for the full term and the last one for one month.
- The rate is fixed for the whole term and every instalment is paid on time.
- Interest earned = maturity value − total deposited.
- Tax, penalties for late or missed instalments, and early-withdrawal charges are not included. Results are estimates.

How a recurring deposit grows
A recurring deposit asks you to put away a fixed amount every month for a set number of months. Each instalment starts earning interest from the day it is paid, so early instalments stay invested longest and earn the most. To estimate the maturity value, this calculator works out how much each instalment grows to by the end of the term and adds them all together. It shows the total you deposited, the interest earned and the balance at each year end, so you can see how much of the final amount is your own money.
